The second issue is perhaps only an annoyance for a few people who want to push their trike to the limits... this one imposes those limits! Top speed in each pedal assist level (PAS) is fixed as long as the pedal are moving or you're on the throttle. The motor actually does some dynamic braking to keep you from exceeding that PAS level's limit. Top speed in PAS5 is about 15.5-16. You can coast down hills as fast as you want, but if you try to pedal, the motor will engage the dynamic braking and try to slow you down. This is maybe a good safety factor and works pretty good in cruise control mode and casual cruising. You can not hack an override on this.

My wife has a Lectric XP and the new XP2 has added some of the features that drove me to the Mooncool over the XP. BTW, they released the XP2 the day I received the TK Pro! The one feature I still would have chosen the TK Pro is the 6-gear shifter for pedaling. It certainly helps on steep hills and the top gear drops the cadence down to where you can still pedal at top speed (not ghost pedalling). 5th gear is about equivalent to the Lectric XP fixed gear regarding cadence at 15 mph. I may put a larger front sprocket to bring the cadence down a bit more.

Both are good trikes. Mooncool support is in China so it takes a 24 hr cycle to get a response, but they do respond and do what they can to help.
