Pedego Electric Bikes has announced a voluntary recall of its Fat Tire Trike after identifying a potential frame defect that may pose safety risks to riders.
According to the recall notice, the frame on certain Fat Tire Trikes can crack or break near a weld point. If the defect occurs while the trike is in use, it could lead to loss of stability and increase the risk of falls or laceration injuries.

- Model: BKS30001BK
- Serial Numbers: D2312050001 through D2312060522
Pedego confirmed that only this specific model is affected. No other Pedego electric bikes or trikes are included in the recall.
Reported Incidents
The company reported receiving multiple complaints related to frame failures. At least one incident resulted in a rider falling and requiring medical attention. Following these reports, Pedego initiated the recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
What Owners Should Do
Owners of the recalled Fat Tire Trikes are advised to stop using the trike immediately and ensure it cannot be operated until repairs are completed.
Pedego is offering a free repair, including parts and labor, through its authorized dealer network. After registering for the recall, customers can select a local Pedego dealer to complete the repair at no cost.
