Q: Who are eTrikes for?

A: eTrikes are for individuals and businesses. eTrikes can work in any of these situations (and more):

  • For seniors who want simple transportation near home without a driver’s license.
  • If you need mobility assistance.
  • For those who live in a congested area where parking or traffic are issues.
  • For a business that currently uses golf carts for employees to maneuver around the property.
  • For businesses such as resorts or rental companies who want to provide rentals for your customers.
Q: Where can an eTrike be used?

A: eTrikes are best suited for hard packed surfaces like bike lanes, residential streets, and paved bike trails. .

Q: How are eTrikes powered?

A: eTrikes are all electric and are powered with a 48v20Ah battery which propels a 500w rear differential motor that turns the back tires.

Q: How many miles will an eTrike go on one charge?

A: Maximum range for a fully charged battery is 30 miles.

Q: How do I recharge my eTrike?

A: eTrikes can be charged with the battery in the eTrike or out. There is a small plug-in on the left side of the driver’s seat where the charger can be plugged in and connected to a standard 110v wall outlet.

Q: How easy is it to recharge my eTrike? Do I need a special plug?

A: eTrikes are easy to charge and only require a 110v standard wall outlet. Once the eTrike is fully charged, the charger will automatically power down so it does not pull any more power.

Q: What type of battery does an eTrike use?

A: eTrikes use a 48v20Ah lithium-ion battery.

Q: How fast does an eTrike go?

A: eTrikes have a 3 speed setting with 18mph max speed.

Q: How far can I get with my eTrike on one charge?

A: eTrikes have a maximum range of 30 miles.

Q: Does an eTrike have an outlet for me to plug in my smart phone?

A: All eTrikes are equipped with a USB port.

Q: Do I need a motorcycle license to drive this?

A: No license required to operate an eTrike.

Q: What’s the advantage of an eTrike over an electric bicycle?

A: eTrikes have three wheels allowing them to balance without using your feet. They are easier to get on and off because of a low foot platform. They also have more storage than bikes, which allows riders to carry beach gear, groceries, and other belongings. Two seats allow for tandem riding.

Q: What’s the advantage of an eTrike over a golf cart?

A: eTrikes are about half to two thirds less expensive. Maintenance is less expensive and not as regularly required. eTrikes do not require a driver’s license, registration or insurance to operate. eTrikes can be operated in more places than golf carts; sidewalks, bike lanes and trails. They can fit in standard doorways.

Q: Do I need a seat belt to keep from falling off an eTrike?

A: Seats belts are not required but included on the back seats. You will not need a seatbelt to safely operate an eTrike.

Q: Is an eTrike street legal on all roads?

A: eTrikes are street legal but should not be ridden on streets with speed limits of over 30mph unless there is a bike lane. eTrikes are not able to be ridden on highways, interstates and major roads with speed limits higher than 30mph.

Q: Is an eTrike sidewalk legal?

A: It depends on the jurisdiction. eTrikes being used for mobility needs as an ADA electric mobility device can be ridden on any sidewalks. For leisure purposes there could be more restrictions of use, depending on your local laws.

Q: How do I secure it when I have parked it somewhere?

A: eTrikes can be parked in bike stands, parking spots, or anywhere it is not obstructing pedestrian walk ways, fire hydrants or entrances to businesses.

Q: Will theme parks allow it?

A: If the eTrike is being used as an ADA electric mobility device, it can be used at a theme park.

Q: Does an e-Trike come in different colors?

A: We currently offer two colors of eTrikes. ETR100 is white, and ETR 400 is bronze. We hope to expand our color selection in the future. eTrikes can be wrapped or repainted if the buyer wishes.

Q: Once you buy one, can you customize the paint or trim?

A: We are unable to customize the paint but we work with a local vehicle graphics company who can wrap your eTrike for an additional cost.

Q: What’s the maximum weight it can carry?

A: eTrikes have a maximum load rating of 440 pounds.

Q: Does it have a windshield and a rain cover?

A: Roof with windshield and rain covers can be purchased for an additional cost.

Q: How much does an eTrike weigh?

A: eTrikes weigh 250lbs.

Q: Can you break it down for travel?

A: eTrikes cannot be broken down for stowaway. If you have a tow hitch, a carrier can be purchased for transport. We recommend mightyhauler.com

Q: Is it safe for air travel with gel batteries?

A: Lithium-ion batteries are not allowed on airplanes.

Q: Can you easily get parts for it?

A: We carry spare parts should you need anything.

Q: Who knows how to fix it when it breaks?

A: We use a third party mobile mechanic company to fix your eTrike. To start a maintenance request please email support@etrikeco.com

Q: If I buy an eTrike, what do I pay for shipping?

A: eTrikes include free shipping on all orders. Please note that if you return your eTrike we will not refund the initial cost of shipping to you, however.

Q: Can I buy an eTrike if I live outside the continental United States?

A: Right now we deliver to the lower 48 states in the US. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii, or to US territories.

Q: After I place my order for an eTrike, how long will delivery take?

A: We ship your eTrike from Florida. Depending on where you are located, delivery can take up to 30 days. Please contact us and we’ll do our best to give you an honest estimate based on your geographical location.

Q: What is your exchange policy?

A: We will replace items if they are defective or damaged. To exchange for the same item please send an email to support@etrikeco.com. In the event that you receive a defective or damaged product we will absorb the return shipping costs.

Q: What is your return policy?

A: We accept returns for up to 14 days after you have received your eTrike. After 14 days we are unable to offer a refund or an exchange. Please note:     

  • Contact support@etrikeco.com for returns. We ask that you contact us before returning your purchase.
  • To be eligible for a return your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
  • It must be returned in its original packaging.
  • You are responsible for paying your own shipping costs when returning an item.
  • The shipping costs we paid when we shipped your eTrike to you after purchase will be deducted from your refund.
  • We will receive and inspect your returned item, and email you to notify you that we have received your returned item. In that same email we will tell you if your refund is approved or rejected.

If approved for a refund, it will be processed within 7 days and returned back to your credit card or original payment method, minus the shipping costs from the time of your purchase.

Q: What is the address for returning an item to you?

A: All returns must be shipped to eTrikeCo, 6531 Channelside Terrace North, Pinellas Park, FL 33781.

Q: Do I have to assemble my new eTrike when it arrives?

A: No, your eTrike arrives fully assembled and ready to ride.

Q: Does my purchase include a warranty?

A: The goods are sold with a 6 month warranty from time of delivery. The warranty will include manufacturing defects and repairs that are not related to customer abuse and neglect. Parts include motor, controllers and electronics. Batteries have a 90 day warranty. Not included: normal wear and tear items such as seats, tire, tubes, wheels, arm pad, arm rests and seat covers. The warranty is non-transferable

Q: What happens if a part breaks on my eTrike?

A: You can order replacement parts for your eTrike.
